A brief guide to the practical requirements of installing a solid fuel appliance in your home.

Relining an existing chimney

In most circumstances, your new solid fuel appliance will need to be installed using a flexible flue liner connected via a vitreous enamelled flue pipe.

Various factors will depend on exactly what components are used for the complete installation which will become apparent once we have conducted a full free site survey.

Creating a twin walled flue system

If you do not have an existing chimney, a solid fuel appliance can be installed by creating a new flue using a twin-walled insulated chimney system. This can pass through the inside of your property through the upper floors and exiting through the roof structure or through an external wall and up the outside of the building.

There are many factors to consider when designing a twin-walled flue system and our technicians will discuss the options available to you on-site or from any building plans you may have.
